Natural swimming pond
As guest at Ridderstee Ouddorp Duin you can also use the facilities at neighboring Vakantiepark De Klepperstee, including the natural swimming pond! The water is purified in a natural way by hundreds of plants on the banks of the pond. Furthermore, additional UV filter equipment ensure clean water. This means there is no chlorine or other chemical in the water. The water is not heated.
The natural pond is fully fenced and consists of three different basins which have various depths. The first pond basin is 40 centimeters deep, the second basin is 80 centimeters deep. Finally, the third water basin is 140 centimeters deep. There are stairs in the two deeper basins. Additionally, around the pond there is a wooden platform and lawn where you can enjoy some relaxation and sunbathing!
The natural pond is always developing. Every Monday, the swimming pond is closed during the day for required rest and recovery. Unfortunately, additional days of closure are necessary occasionally. These closures are not cause for a refund.
Sauna
In 2022 a sauna was placed at the swimming pond. Through the reception you can book a sauna session of 60 minutes for up to 4 persons. Booking is possible from Monday to Sunday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Use of the sauna is completely free for guests at Ridderstee Ouddorp Duin!
HOUSE RULES
- You enter the playing pond at your own risk.
- The pond is open daily between April 1 and October 1, except for Mondays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Swimwear is compulsory.
- Children under 12 must always be supervised by an adult.
- Floaties are compulsory for children without swimming certificate.
- You are not allowed to enter the area with plants.
- A shower before entering the pool is compulsory.
- Dogs (or other pets) are not allowed. Also not inside the fencing.
- Diving from the waterside is strictly prohibited.
- No glass (or other sharp objects) allowed inside the fences.
- You are not allowed to smoke within the fencing around the swimming pond.
HOUSE RULES SAUNA
- You can only enter the sauna after booking and at your own risk.
- The sauna is open during the opening hours of the reception.
- Pick up the key for the sauna at the reception.
- Swimwear and flip-flops are compulsory.
- Bringing a bath towel + small towel is compulsory.
- Use of sauna is for persons 18 and over.
